Business sign-in
Preview. The sign-in set-up described here is still being finished and is not available yet. Wait for our confirmed set-up details before you approve anything in Microsoft.
Who signs in how
- Company administrators sign in with a Microsoft work account and multi-factor authentication (MFA). Personal Microsoft accounts can't be used for administration.
- Staff will be able to sign in with Microsoft, Xero or another supported sign-in. Xero and other options for staff are still being built.
- Signing in never makes someone an administrator on its own.
- Signing in with Xero and connecting a Xero organisation are separate. Signing in shows who you are. Connecting an organisation lets ClaimGate read its bills.
Before you start
- Your administrator needs a work account in your company's Microsoft directory, with MFA set up.
- Check with your IT team whether they must approve new apps for your organisation.
- Wait for our invitation and the confirmed sign-in link. You don't need to register your own app, and you should never send us passwords, MFA codes or secrets.
- Don't change your Microsoft security settings to make ClaimGate work.
Connect Microsoft
Once sign-in is available:
- Open the confirmed ClaimGate sign-in link and choose Microsoft.
- Sign in with your work account and complete Microsoft's checks.
- Read Microsoft's consent screen. Check the app name and permissions match what we sent you. If Microsoft asks for administrator approval, pass the request to your IT team. Don't approve an app or permissions you don't recognise.
- Your IT team can see the app in the Microsoft Entra admin centre under Enterprise applications, and can limit which users may sign in.
- Back in ClaimGate, send your company's access request. We approve each company separately. Signing in to Microsoft doesn't approve your company.
- Once we approve it, sign in again. The person who sent the request becomes your company administrator.
If ClaimGate can't confirm MFA for a sign-in, access stays blocked.
Give staff access
Once your company is approved, other members of your Microsoft directory are added as viewers when they first sign in. This covers everyone in that directory who can sign in to the app, so agree the scope with your IT team first. Your administrator can change roles and remove access in ClaimGate.
For staff using Xero or another sign-in, we'll give you the joining steps when that option is ready. An email address on its own never links a person to your company.
If something doesn't work
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Administrator approval required | Ask your IT team to review the app consent. |
| Personal or guest account refused | Use your company work account. |
| MFA can't be confirmed | Sign in again. If it still fails, contact your IT team and us. Don't turn MFA off. |
| Company request pending | Wait for our approval. |
| Access removed | Ask your company administrator. Signing in again doesn't undo it. |
| No Xero sign-in button | That option isn't available for staff yet. Connect Xero is a different button. |
| Every administrator has lost access | Contact us for the recovery process. |
Email partners@rolebird.co.nz with your company name, the time and the message shown. Don't send documents, passwords, codes or screenshots showing account details.
